A Learning Experience

In Rio, the Amazon rainforest, and Salvador

Number of Guests: 19

Destinations: Salvador, the Amazon rainforest and Rio de Janeiro

Duration: 11 days

Purpose: To present unique destinations in Brazil, and their peculiarities and cultures

This multi-destination networking trip gathered 24 people from different countries, who had met in an international leadership program. More than just visiting incredible destinations in Brazil, such as Salvador, Rio de Janeiro, and the Amazon rainforest, the idea was to offer cultural knowledge of each place.

It was an 11-day tour, and in each destination, the group was accompanied by travel speakers, who shared memorable experiences about each city’s peculiarities. In Salvador, for instance, in addition to boating tours and visits to historical churches, a scholar shared facts and curiosities about its religious belief, rhythms, and other unique aspects of the region. In the Amazon rainforest, they visited a riverside community with the local leader, and attended a course at the Rainforest Business School, where they listened to the teachings of a young indigenous activist. And that was not all, the days in the forest were also marked by live music parties at the river shore, boating tours, and other adventures.

On the final leg of the trip, Rio de Janeiro, the group visited the Sugarloaf Mountain and went on a bike city tour, without leaving out talks about inequality with guest speakers such as Renan Ferreirinha, the head of the city’s Department of Education.
